Drug use and drinking in the south in Kentucky is the highest place for tobacco and in the south they are also very heavy drinkers. They drink so much because of their environment. in the article “Drinkers in the South” author Douglas Main said that if you ask people they would say that they have drank alcohol in the past 30 days. The graph shows that there is a lot of people in the south that are overdosing on drug and prescription drugs.

In my live i have had a lot of drug issues my step dad recently just got out of prison for selling, cooking, and doing drugs. Drug back in 1999 i found this on a graph well in 1999 people really did not use drugs but in 2017 drugs has went up big time people has been using them and have been dying from them from overdosing. I think that people should open their eyes and see that drugs is not good or healthy for them.

Drinking in the south was very high according to the “drinkers in the south” passage they drank a lot if you ask one of them they would say that they have drank in the past 30 days. I can relate to this when i was growing up my grandfather drank all the time and now he had to stop because he just felt like that was not him he felt like he was getting older and it was not healthy for him any more so he stop doing it. I think that people in the south drink some what because they like to party.

Where i am from Franklin Kentucky there is a lot of people here that drinks does drugs . I know that my younger sister has been through a lot with her mom. She was doing drugs and did not care about her kids so she left them home alone. My 9 year old sister had to care for her 5 year old sister so then my younger sister went to foster care but now she is home with my mom and my step dad.
